According to Bahir Dar University Professor in Social Science Department who wants to remain in anonymity for personal safety told wlka the consolidation of African Neo-Nazism in the region. The present demonstration in Amhara region is sponsored by Amhara National Democratic Movement (ANDM) faction led by Gedu Andargachew, who is a key suspect in December 2015 Kemant Genocide, according to a human rights observers report. The democratization has nothing to do with democratization, equality and human rights respect, but aimed to expand genocide on the Agaw people and Beta Israel in Gojjam, Gondar North Wollo. It is to reinforce genocide started in the year 2015 on the Agaw-Kemants, and at the end to ensure Wollo Amhara Supremacy. For instance, Gojjam and Gondar non-Kemant area are currently under Wollo colony. In Awi, Agaw Democratic Party (AgDP) members and supporters have been held in unknown detention centers as the part of a large scheme against the Agaw people in general. In addition to attacking Tigrians for their ethnicity, In Bahir Dar, Finote Selam, Injibara and Dangla the residencies of Agaw officials & investors deliberately targeted and destroyed, for example, the Houses of Kassa Teklebirhan, Binalf Andualem and the residency of Dangla Mayor. It is proof that peaceful resistance will achieve nothing in Amhara Region unless another option including guerrilla warfare is designed. In other parts of Ethiopia, people are fear of emerging Neo-Nazism in Region-3, the Ethiopians out of the region think that Amhara party, which cannot tolerate their roots, Agaws aspiration, will not promote democratization in Ethiopia at any cost. Especially, in Afars and Gumuzes in Metekel are fear of Kemant Style Genocide in their respective homelands.
In order to conduct demonstration in Awi the Neo-Nazi ANDM faction has used various repressive tactics including the following:
Paid cash for agitators Birr 500-4,000 depending on an individual role. Some sources indicated the ANDM invested around 6.4 million, to hold the demonstration in Awi.
2. Made the demonstration a mandatory and outlined penalty for failure to participate. The penalty includes deprivation of loans and an employment opportunity in the region.
3. Disseminated false rumor by claiming the ANDM and AgDP signed a partnership memorandum to work together.
4. Transported about 250 to 300 young people in the midnight on August 27 from an unknown location. Some of them were armed to create fear house-to-house.
5. Detained AgDP members and supporter before the demonstration in fear of their possible intervention.
6. Another key factor helped the ANDM faction to deceive youth in Debre Markos, Finote Selam, Injibara, Dangla and other towns in the area was lack of independent media to hear alternative views.
On August 28, ANDM cadres and young people staged demonstration chanting the slogan of HIWOT LEVA NOW… (TPLF is theft…). Since ANDM cadres had planned to attack Ato Yhannes’ Hotel located at downtown, the cadres informed the demonstrators that there were weapons at Ato Yohannes’ Hotel left by the militia. The cadres instructed the demonstrators pick and take the weapons for themselves. Thus, the young people in mass advanced towards the hotel. Security personnel from the hotel compound fires to scatter the crowd, at the same time the ANDM’s police and cadres fired from the back causing the death of four demonstrators and wounding other seven people. The hotel had been also damaged, including its an automobile. The ANDM cadres also murdered the child of their opponent from his home, his father is reportedly a supporter of Mr Binalf’s and Mr Kassa’s faction. At the town of Dangla one demonstrator was shot to death by an unidentified offender and one hotel was damaged. The demonstration also took place at Gimjabet, Tilili and Chagni. The demonstration at Gimjabet is related to an outstanding grievance on land dispute with his honorable Dr. Sheikh Mohammed Alamudi, the owner of Ayo Farmland. The farmers argue that Ayo Farm grasped around 100 hactors of their land, which was not the part of the Farm during purchase. On May 26, 2012 the farmers called on Sheikh Alamudi to discuss their Grievance with him directly.
According to the same analyst, since the constitution is not in effect anymore in Ethiopia, the Agaw people must prepare themselves for worse situation including guerrilla warfare, or live at second level citizenship under ANDM Neo-Nazi party Supremacy
in the region.
