I am saddened by what is happening to kemant people just for asking for their rights to run their own affairs. This kind of vicious attack needs to stop. It does not help the larger public of Gonder’s quest for democracy.

  5. Nigatu says:

Hallo my beloved Agaw people, I am very impressed by your effort to recover a brutally and systematically eradicated Agaw identity by successive Ethiopian chauvinist rulers. My old grand-grandfather was originally from wag Khemira in wollo region and my mother is Oromo. I was told by my grandfather who is not in life now that our people (the Agaw people) is disintegrated and lost their language, culture, and identity because of the Amahara politicians’ propaganda and dominance. we are integrated with oromo now in some aspects. He told me that the current northern Ethiopian traditional or cultural clothes, traditional hair style and dances was perhaps originally belongs to the Agaw people, but claimed by Amaharas as their own culture. My name is Kassa. Currently, I am living in Oslo, Norway and I am a Social Anthropologist by profession. I know very well about the history of my people carefully and proudly. I am very interested in establishing a contact with people from Sekota or wagging Khemira. I want to be a member of my hereditary, but it is very difficult to establish contact when somebody lives far away or abroad. Please, can anyone send me a helpful contact with somebody in Sekota so that I can at least visit the town or the region one?

Mr. Nigatu, somebody will contact you on email. To discuss with you how to establish contacts. Thank you for interest.
